So I cashed out my last weeks vaction to pay for a used diff from stadium this was the most cost effective way to go at this time. It is a D44 from a 2004 grand w/vari lock 3.73 gears. Going to try and get the swap out done tomorrow. Seems to have a nice wear pattern on the ring gear and pinion, the teeth on the ring gear are in much better shape then the old one. Just have to pull the axles and swap backing plates the ones that are on the replacement diff are pretty bent up. Will probably replace the bearings and seals after it makes it past the 3000 mile warranty.

That should be pretty straight forward. Hope it goes well! How much does Stadium charge for an axle assembly?

Nice! I like how shiny the gears are, guess it never went low on oil. Should be a good axle. :thumb:

Yep it is easy to do, just wish I worked at a shop still a 2 post lift and air tools.would make it a lot faster. The diff was 550. They also charged me 50 for a core charge debating if I want to say keep the 50 and just build a spare for later.

That is probably a pretty hard axle to find since it is newer. Just FYI, most other u-pull places charge about $150 per axle. Chances are you won't find something like that though. Should be a nice swap!

Well started on the diff swap about 2pm on the 3rd I did not get the old diff out until about 5ish. I had my brother inlaw stop by to give me a hand getting it up onto my motorcycle jack after we slide the new diff under the rear. Jack stands aren't tall enough with it on it. Stopped about 6ish started drinkin beer and grillin some food. Wrapped it up about noon on the fourth took it for a short test drive then headed up to Bandimere. Everything seems to be good so far up until now so hopefully it holds up till I can do some other things to it like finishing the sliders I started 2 months ago and a few other things.
