We are planning either a 2 drawer system or a vertical slot system with pelican cases with a fridge freezer mount. On the sides a recovery gear stowage box and a 5 gallon water tank/can. All well secured for offroad.

next we are installing a dog guard to keep the gear from coming forward.

Will be sweet. I slapped together a shelf for my XJ out of pieces of wood I had laying around the house to experiment with what I liked. Still have to get spare tire and high lift out of way then I can start experimenting with sectioning and height. Is this a shelving you are making yourself or an aftermarket thing? Originally I was planning on using metal but the wood has been in there so long now and held up so well not so sure.

We are going to use wood for the box and main drawer covered in carpet for sound deadenings, I am thinking of using a African wood for the drawer fronts just to add a nice touch.

Brad, whats the overall detail? what all will be incorporated into the setup? anything serving dual purpose?

There will always be dual purpose. I like some of the ideas the Drifta guy has come up with:

i really like the slide outs that can be used as tables. I am also looking to add a pit posse drop down shelf on the door, safety grid over the back window:

which can have stuff hung from it, like this:

We have been slowly accumulating our ultimate first aid kit with advice from Pete and Big Ed.

kind of like Ray G over on expedition portal:

only a little different.

Of course! I have a cross post on the storage solutions forum. Hence some of my ideas. The exact layout is still up in the air.

Pardon the mess, some of the recovery gear that needs a built in home. :D
