View Full Version : Diamond lake hike 8-3-13

Jenn, Rosie and I hiked up to diamond lake off the 4th of July trail. If you like beautiful and challenging hikes we highly recommend this hike. It does run between 10,100 ft and 11,000 feet for those interested.

Started fairly mild (sorry for the blurry image)

Great view of a waterfall on the opposite side of the canyon about a half mile up

Flowers along the hike are truly incredible

There were several creek and larger water falls along the way.

Decision time, you can go right and hike up over the pass, we did not think we could beat the weather so we chose diamond lake.

This tree was on the way to the lake, not sure how this happened.

Path to the lake has several uphill section which can wear you out! I only took pictures of the flat areas for some reason.

Finally got to the lake! The gnats were thick but the scenery is amazing!

Sweet Brad! The tree pic, snow loads do that to trees. Also felled trees on other trees, same thing. Tons of em up here.

Awesome!! :thumb: That's one of my favorite areas for hiking, the water and lakes are great for my dog.
