Fun with the LWB

[Funrover]

Well the head gaskets failed, as it turns out they are the originals. Made for a learning day for me. been a bit since I have dove this far into a motor and first time on the Rovers.

Block currently covered up, coolant removed from cylinders. Next comes clean up and prep!

Well good news bad news. The motor is all back together and going great. However the lower heater core hose sprung a leak. So I now have a leak again! GRRRRR...

How nice is it to see a project like this nearing completion! Too bad you have to cover up those stacks, they just kinda scream horsepower. Is that heater hose a pain to get to? The old FJ80 had hoses running to the rear heater and if one of those ever blew, it looked like it would be major.

Yeah, it sucks to get to. Did the heater core last winter with a good friend and it was a new hose then. I think I managed to put a small pin hole in it during this project.... DO'h!!!

Looks great hope its up and running again soon.

At least the major part is done. Hope the hose goes easy enough. Just be glad you can do the work instead of having to pay someone!

Wish I could have helped out Aaron. Work has been 50+ hours a week plus I had a 03 Audi A4 with a blown timing belt in my driveway for the past 3 weeks. Great job getting it done!
