I've been looking around trying to figure out if my lift from my 92 Cherokee will fit a 98 with no problems at all. From what I can tell is there won't be. Or is there something I'm missing? I also want to swap my warn bumpers

yep the lift should swap no problem. the bumper may require the fender to be trimmed a little though.

Are you OK with doing your own cutting and welding?
Other than the engine, what is wrong with the '92?
BTW, '98 is a good year for XJs. :thumb:

Besides the engine its got a little electrical problem with the rear tail lights sometimes they work sometimes they don't, a couple gauges don't work, and a couple other little things here and there. What kind of welding and cutting would I need to do. I'm good with fender trimming.

What kind of welding and cutting would I need to do.That is a tough question to answer, I haven't seen your XJ. Even in generic terms, it's hard to imagine adding long arms and 8" of lift without some fabrication.
That aside, I'd be welding on unibody stiffners before adding all the fun parts.

I just picked up a stock '99, 4.0, Automatic. Any thoughts on the 99 XJ?

'99 was a good year too, I had one and was very happy with it. After '99, the '00-'01s mostly all had d35 rear axles, low pinion d30 front axles, and that's when they also started having problems with the head castings on the 4.0l too. I believe the '98-'99s also had a better intake manifold than the earlier ones had.
I've always thought that '98-'99 was the years to get.
