I am looking to buy a MIG welder. I dont need anything super powerful as I will rarely be welding things over 3/16", so I am guessing something entry level will work just fine. I have access to 220v so that is not an issue. What would you guys recommend, lincoln, miller? Should I try craiglist?
Also, where do you fill up your tanks and how much do they charge?
Thanks!

always check CL sometimes there is some good buys, definitely go 220v, Both the L & M welders are good. I refill my bottles at Hawkeye welding in Commerce City they are reasonable and after getting to know them over the years they repaired my trigger for me free of charge.

Can I ask how much you guys pay?
How do the Hobart Handler 190, Lincoln SP-180T, and Miller Millermatic 180 look? They are the lowest 220v breed from each company.

This one's a little old, but the price looks good for what you're getting,

This is what I thought of when I saw the subject line and I just couldn't resist.

i have a handler 210. bought as refurb from Tool King. Best thing i have ever bought. i love it. bought my tank at gases and arc supply, $225 i think. $40 fill ups for 75/25.
the only thing ill say about the handler is that the amp settings are fixed, i believe 7 choices. a similar miller will have infinite settings. but i have absolutely no issue with that fact.
good luck.

I can not remember how much the gas is, but it depends on the size of the bottle. I went to Gases and they gave me guf, because I did not buy the bottle from them. Never had a problem with Buckeye, guys are really nice and seem to be fairly priced.

I think my last fill was between $25-$35 for 75/25 mix.
