Fourteen vehicles turned out today. Kudos to Brad, for taking the bull by the horns and getting this organized! Thanks to everyone who made it out!

I did not take many pictures today.

I had to run to Frisco after trail clean up so just got home. (I will explain that in another post)
First, thank you to everyone who helped out. It means a lot to the group to keep our trails clean! :thumb:
Second, David, we forgot one person in your party, PM me so we can add her to the papers before I turn them in.

I only took a few pictures, so here goes!

I apparently only take pics of my own. Sorry. I tried to get pics of others going through some spots, but they. Always got through before I could get ready.

I got a 5 gallon bucket worth of trash. Not bad I guess.

Good time!

Wish I could have been there (but I had a nice time with family today!). I am surprised there was no uniform snow covering - from the reports, I was expecting 1 to 2" covering all grass areas.

We are going to have to shift this back to September next year. Snow made some spots rather sketchy, we did not take the long loop due to the snow and off camber area I did not want to risk sending multiple rigs into trees. Generally there is very little trash back there so we will get it in June.

We had some slippery spots on Barbour as well. No damage to report other than some occasional rock scrapes underneath. Seems like we only had slippery while climbing which I guess is better than coming down.

We found a windshield/back window in that large meadow with the horses. Someone was being dumb, did some donuts and rolled their rig. That was the only big piece we came across. I picked up lots of shotgun shells and wadding.

I lead the Barbour Fork group on this one... first time ever being at the front of the line. What a great group we had this round. No one left anyone behind and with our snowy trouble spots everyone was ready to help out if needed.. We ran the whole loop going up the big hill and around and I have to say WOW.. there was hardly and trash. We did pick up a lot of shells and at one spot it looked like someone might have rolled. There was a windshield, glass from maybe a door window and some cds. Other than that it was fairly clean. The trail has changed a bit but not to bad all made it with no winching or strapping. .. I do have to say there are some tight spots for a full size rig to squeeze through, lost count of all branches that came through my window.

I did get a few pictures and will get them posted up shortly.... again thanks to all that came out today..always nice to see new and old faces.

Were there any members "riding along" with another member for the day (I'm updating wheeler badges via the posts in the thread)?

Looks like a great time, wish I could have made it but had way to much on my plate today and want to let all the new parts settle a little more before anything real wheeling.

Sorry for the late posting. My batteries were going dead, so all I got photos of was someones residence. I will get the GPS coordinates for Brad to send this in to Brant so they can take care of it.

Sad.

In Pic #2, is there someone sleeping under that tarp (or whatever it is)?

Patrolman
October 27th, 2013, 03:01 PM
It is a 2nd tent that has faller over a fire pit and is now partially covered in leaves. Clearly been abandoned a while. We didn't poke around in either tent. Just cleaned up the glass and stuff around the general area.

Brad, Thanks again for organizing this! We all had a blast, I agree, maybe a little earlier next year to avoid the snow, but a GREAT day nonetheless!

Where in Englewood are you? We used to live at Hampden and Logan area. Still pass through there every day.

Out of curiosity... Does this count as wheeling and volunteering? Or is that double dipping?

LOL yeah that part of the trail is a little tight for full sized rigs. One of the trees that gave me some new pin stripping also gave me my first trail dent....

Realy. A little tight for a fullsize.
It was tight for the Ranger.
It was damn tight for you !!!
