Dang, I want to go do those trails again since last time I was up there I was snow bashing. But I am already heading up to Bald Mtn (the one in Larimer cty) that day.

I had thought about running these this weekend but someone indicated MSV closed October 18.

I had heard the FS had closed all the back country roads (North of coal creek) since the flooding. Haven't heard if they'd reopened any. I'd check with the boulder FS office before heading up.

I was told at 9am this morning by the Boulder Ranger District on the telephone that the only areas closed were the Bunce School Rd. area and Lefthand Canyon area. Apparently I was given incorrect information.
Any suggestions on another trail?

Bring a couple trucks with winches, lots of straps & energy and go to West Magnolia. It's really washed out and looked quite nasty when Rob & I were there a few weeks ago. It was 4pm when we got there and after seeing it, walking it and talking it over, turned around.

Website says it may not be quite current. If boulder office says its open they know best.

So I can't do West Magnolia by myself then? Anyone want to check it out tomorrow?

Not in my opinion. It's really washed out, the "rut" in now a deep ditch, we guessed about 2 feet deeper than in the past, pretty nasty now Max.

You can likely do most of the trail by yourself. I'd stay away from the section Chris is talking about, though, if you go solo. It's 109.1B on the MVUM, a spur between 512.1 and 109.1 loop.
