Newbie Jeep in the Springs

Hey everyone, I'm John. I'm an Ohio native (hence the username) who's been in the Springs for about 3.5 years now. I have a 1997 TJ. Upgrades include a 3.5" Rubicon Express lift, 33" BFG A/T's, and a Banks headers and cat back system.

It was my DD back in high school and college, but it spent the last few years gathering rust in Ohio where it was mostly used to shuttle boats around during the summer. I finally bit the bullet this last summer and drove it out to Colorado. Best decision I've made in a while!

I've done just a couple trail runs so far - Tin Cup Pass and Rainbow Falls - but I'm officially hooked. Looking forward to meeting other four-wheel enthusiasts in the area!

Haha... the remaining bolt was actually in there pretty good so I left it hanging for a little while. Eventually I got annoyed by all the people stopping me to point it out that I finally took it off.

Be careful about that front plate. We bought our minivan in Florida where you are not required to have a front plate. In fact, on our van, there is nothing to mount one to. A couple years ago while driving it to a park in Glenwood Springs, we got stopped and ticketed for lack of front plate... (young, punk officer didn't have anything else to get us on...)
