Set up some toy 4.56 gears today.

Setup some used 4.56 gears with a spare ARB I had for the DD.

Driving in the pinion bearing cups.

Went with .070 on the pinion shim.

Set the preload on the carrier bearings and the back lash on the used 4.56 gears.

.070 of pinion shim got the pattern right where we want it!

Finished up by setting the pinion bearing preload with a solid pinion spacer. Didn't get any photos of that.

Nice job. If I had more tools and a garage (and lots of YouTube help :)) , I'd consider trying bigger projects like this.
