I'm doing my winter mods / prep and such and have been trying to get a good list together of trail spares and tools. This is a good list: http://www.quadratec.com/jeep_knowledgebase/article-57.htm
and this video has some good ideas.

Usually what breaks is the one thing you don't have.
I carry spare axles, belts hoses etc and tools.

Tools, first aid kit, fluid, and a credit card. I haven't had the opportunity to gather up spare parts for the JK yet, plus its harder to get them unless I'm buying new. They're not just sitting all over junkyards like the XJ.

I carry a couple of bags-a tire repair bag, a tool bag and a small parts bag. I also have a 4x6 rubber mat rolled up and strapped with large parts- front axle shafts, a rear driveshaft, a lower control arm, tierod and a couple of other things I can't remember offhand that I strap down in the back. I'm always looking to upgrade, and next year I'll have a trailer so I can carry a lot more. I have 3 multi-day solo trips planned so I'm expanding my spare parts as much as possible. The trick is I don't want to end up dragging around an entire spare LJ...

this is how I carry my spare fluids, everything the Jeep uses except coolant (water will work temporarily and I carry a lot). It's an old backpack cooler, I like it outside the vehicle incase of leaks It works well, but I'm interested in upgrading this too if anyone has any suggestions.
