Got the day off work and heading to the mountains, Cascade Creek outside of Idaho Springs. Should be lots of snow on an easy trail thru the trees. There are rocky up hill sections that should be challenging in the snow. Come out and join us!!!

as long as you have GOOD front and rear tow points (no class 1 trailer hitches) I am fine with it as I am going to join also :) should be fun :)

Hopefully I can find a set of chains to fit out of the bin that has built up in my shop over the years. Welding on some new D rings today too. It's been too long since I have been out and this one is looking like a go for me. I may have my dog as well but he is friendly and will just run in the woods by himself most of the time out of the way.

What i have seen in the past is lots of snow in the woods thru these trails. There has been plenty of snow.the.past.week but the weather is suppost to be warm. Should make for.some interesting conditions. Dogs are welcome but I do think you should bring a leash in case the dogs do not get along.

I will just leave the dog home if yours may not be friendly with him. He has 220 acres that he runs on all day so he doesnt need to come. I do need to get out on the trails on the other hand. I will still be there

No need. Mine gets along fine. Any issue, she can just stay in the truck.

Cascade is near Idaho Springs, so you'll probably want to go up I-70 not 285. Might suck a bit in the morning, but nothing too horrible I'm guessing. MLK day is one of those Holidays that aren't as common to get work off from in my experience. Heck, I don't even think I got school off for it growing up.

Come home before 3pm and you should be fine too, or go towards Epic Ski Area and down into Evergreen for a more pleasant and less crowded drive.

I do kind of want to go still, but I have so many projects I'm juggling right now that I think I'm gonna work on one of those now. My tow rig is having issues running, so I'll probably continue to work on that.

Josh, best and cheapest diesel mechanic is a guy named Chris. owns the shop on 80th and chase, used to be a transmission shop, its bright red building. he does all my dads 7.3 stuff. i can help you tow it up there after wheeling tomorrow, or anytime tuesday.

I'm not quite ready to have someone else work on it yet, but I'll definitely keep that in mind if I do.

Any of the issues I'm think it might have are doable on my own, I just have to figure out what is actually wrong. Its been an odd week and not much has been going right for me, including figuring this out. Hoping next week is more fruitful and productive.

The most I would want to do right now is maybe get it there just so the mechanic could do diagnostics, but I want to exhaust other avenues first.
