Anyone up for a snow run this weekend, Sat or Sun? I am new in town and don't know the trails, so I don't feel comfortable planning a run myself but thought maybe another member might be planning something. I see there is a trip planned for Monday but I can't make that one.

I was up at slaughterhouse last weekend, lots of snow but got around pretty good with no lockers and chains in the back, did not go down the hills to the gulch though, may be ok if you take the loop counterclockwise?? dont think they got snow this past week.

You can still plan the run. :) Post up in the Trail Run Planning forum that you want to go out, you don't want to go solo because you're new to the area and see who is interested. This thread is a great start to "planning the run". :)

Trust me when I say counter clockwise will not help you... unless you have a winch.. or a shovel, chains, and a couple of extra hours... that hill is steep when there's snow present. You're better off going clockwise.

....ask me how I know

Rock Creek perhaps

FYI, Rock Creek doesn't have a gate so it doesn't get closed in the winter. Only the depth of snow determines whether it's runnable. I think I'm one for five on it.
