What are your top three trails, and why?

#1 Red Cone (with Radical Hill as the exit trail): GRAND, above timberline, high scenery value trail!!!
#2 thinking...
#3 LHC: Good variety of terrain & scenery, while being close-ish to home.

1) Hahn's Peak: Just because I haven't made it to the watchtower yet.
2) Rollins Pass East: Because of this field of wildflowers near the top
3) Bill Moore: I like to drive in the trees

It is hard to narrow it down to 3. Chinaman Gulch is currently my favorite for pushing my truck. Have yet to get back up there since getting rock sliders and 2" additional lift. Central City network is sentimental to me because that is where we got our start wheeling (you don't even want to know what we were driving then). Helps that I can pull out my board and have some extra fun in the snow. McClellan Mountain and Argentine Pass are my favorites for scenery.

1. Wheeler Lake - All around fun trail and just the right length, doesn't just bounce you around all day.
2. Chinamans - A little something for everyone, can be as hard as you want it to be.
3. Red Cone - Great views

Absolute #1 is Holy Cross. Epic Colorado scenery, high and mid level elevations. water, dirt, rocks, trees. doable in slight modded vehicles.

#2 Wheeler Lake. very diverse mix of technical obstacles. Excellent scenery. Relatively close to home.

#3 Currently Halfmoon Creek. stock high clearance is all you need. lots of water crossings, great scenery in and out of the trees. fun elevation gain. great camping. and THEE best rig in front of a mill trail pic you'll ever take!

To be honest, 2 and 3 will likely swap at some point.

Rounding out the top 5 will be

Chinaman

and Barbour Forks.

I think the most fun and amazing trail for me was Fins n Things in Moab. But locally I like the trails up by Estes: Johnny, Pierson and Pole Hil just because they are close, you can do them all in a day or just pick one or two and call it a day. Scenery is nice and no extreme obstacles (at least before the flood). I hope they fared well...

#1) Holy Cross- favorite Colorado trail. Combines the beautiful Colorado high country with a little bit of challenging 4 wheeling.

#2) Pritchett Canyon- favorite Moab trail. Shows off a lot of what Moab has to offer while still providing some difficult terrain. Also incorporates the slick rock with some loose rocks and sand, and you can not forget about the desert whoops sections on the back way out.

#3) Outer Limits/Backdoor- (Well all of JV actually) favorite of the Johnson Valley area. First trails I ever did in Cali. at the 25th anniversary Bronco event years ago. And also had the honor of running during the first KOH run.

Cool thread, Jim!! :thumb:

Colorado-
Tincup Pass- one of the first trails I did in CO. Ghost towns, incredible scenery, Mt. Princeton Hot Springs are fun.
Walden Sand Dunes- unique. Like nothing else I've ever wheeled. Big fun to wheel at high speed, can't wait to go again this summer.
Yankee Hill area- easy, close and so much fun. There are so many great trails in such a (relatively) small area from Apex to Cumberland, plus the cemeteries and Nevadaville.

Moab-
Long Canyon- my first Moab trail. Heading downhill you see some of the best scenery in the area. I hear it's been graded... :(
Elephant Hill- just awesome, unbelievable scenery. hoping to make my 3rd trip there this year to camp DK and hike to Druid Arch. Hiking there is even better than 4x4, IMO.
Fins n Things- Definitive Moab! It's all in your head.

Man this is a tough one. #2 and #3 may change

#1 China Wall - This is where wheeling started for me, this is where I proposed to my wonderful wife and this is where I can take stock rigs and have a lot of fun showing folks what their rig can do.

#2 Chinamens Gulch - I love all of the obstacles, the constant change/challenge. I also love that there is abundant camping in BV and more to do than just wheel. A great area to make a weekend of it.

#3 Red Cone - Close to home, Wonderful scenery. Love driving through the forest and then above.
