Its been rumbling for a long time, when it finally blows trouble's going to be everywhere. I have to say I'm not a fan of the site or its reliability though as a fan of the Singularity I got a kick out of this which takes it way off base.http://asheepnomore.net/2014/02/01/will-humanity-survive-singularity/

Here's some good info: http://www.livescience.com/28821-yellowstone-supervolcano-bigger-plume.html

The article indicates the rumblings have increased dramatically over the last couple of months.

Yes it has, the national geologic agency has been worried about it more now than ever before. The waters around the region has started seeing a drastic rise in temps and off gassing too.

Volcanoes don't really worry me much, growing up with people always talking about how Mt. Rainier was gonna kill us dulled me to it lol. But if Yellowstone did blow it would not only blowup everything around it but would have a massive effect on the Weather and Temperatures worldwide.

I've heard about the rumbling of Yellowstone since I was a kid. It may have increased, but I'm not going to worry about it. If it goes, it goes and we're gone. No biggie for me. I just want a ringside seat.

Top-O-Mount Evans might work just fine for that!

You're going to meet me up there, right? Maybe we can try to plan a trail run for the "big event"

Top-O-Mount Evans might work just fine for that!Yes it would. I didn't start this thread due to fear. I find the whole process intriguing.

Oh, it's intriguing. I just think we should plan a trail run and call it the "Big Bang Run":steer::2thumbup:

You folks might like this movie: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1307068/ (Seeking a Friend For The End Of The World)
Was a good movie - and if Yellowstone gets mad enough, ... See you all on Mt. Evans for the show!

(Do we need a "food planning run for that? ... Nah...)

Won't everyone else going to be going in the other direction?

You beat me to it!!

As for traffic jam - it's a 4x4 run - and if it's the end of the world - I'll be off-roading in the "most likely to survive" direction!

A borehole seismometer called "B944", located near the West Thumb region of the Park, has been malfunctioning in recent weeks with strong bursts of electronic noise contaminating its data. These noise bursts appear as wild excursions on the B944 webicorders that can appear alarming to the inexperienced eye.

Ping two options:
1) c'mon - let's not have some reality spoil our fun
or
2) cue up the conspiracy folks...

Y`all might enjoy this stat from the Feb 2014 Popular Science (p25):

Volume of the largest magma
reservoir on Earth. Located
beneath Yellowstone, it's
equivalent to 1.6 billion
Olimpic-size pools.
