Sunday Feb 16 (good Wx!) - Get out for something??

I'm curious to get out this Sunday. Weather looks to be quite nice (better on Sun vs. Sat). I'd be open for anything from Estes Park down to I-70.

Thoughts?

Weather will be in the 80's for me, but I am my way to AZ. Have fun, Is the jeep going to be done?

CF 4x4 has this posted for Sat 22 (Edit: first thought it was this Sat and might be an alternative to Sunday)

Jamestown is having a volunteer work day on Saturday, Feb. 22nd and I was wondering if your crew would be willing to join us? We are at a low point in people's morale and could really use a boost of having some equipment volunteers to help really make a difference clearing debris from resident's yards. Currently I have work orders for two residents whose entire yard is full of rock debris.

Please let me know if you think this might be something your group would be interested in.
Thank you and best of luck in Glen Haven!

I could see the "22nd help" as being an option in addition to this Sunday

I could see the "22nd help" as being an option in addition to this SundayYah. When I posted it I just copy pasted thinking it was for this Sat.

Anywhere specific in mind? I'm wide open this weekend and it's going to be great weather!

I'm really open for anything - Estes Park to Idaho Springs...

Bunce / Ironclads??? (they might be "just right" for a challenge after the recent warmer temps / melt-off)

Rock Creek looks too snowed in.

I don't know the trails near Idaho Springs as much.

Well I'm not sure what kind of condition either of those are in, but I am game to check it out!

I was planning on heading out for a little while today just to check snow pack on the trails out of Idaho Springs. I am right down the street so it won't take me long to get there. It has been warm the last few days, resulting in a decent amount of melt off for anyone under 9000 ft or so so I am hoping it won't look too bad. I will update you guys later when I know more.

If I can talk the wife and the kid into going I'm down, or talk them into letting me go. Either way :D

My overnight plans fell through. My buddy's got family in town. So my tomorrow just freed up. Let me know what you guys are thinking. I'd love to hit Idaho Springs. It gives me an excuse to eat @ Tommy Knockers.

How about a meeting point in Denver or boulder for those of us coming from the south end?

:scratching head:

With Boulder as an origination, Google Maps still shows routing through Lyons as preferred...

Though, if you look at the RSVP page, WW2AVG (Dave) says he'll be meeting at the trailhead @ 10am (Lyons folks would get to trailhead about 10:10 or so).

I thought that would be fine, but Minnesota suggested just going the other way.

It's all good - see you folks at one of the two spots!
