Went in today to get my plates after having to go back to the emissions place to have them fix their screw up on the VIN verification form, only to sit for two hours and walk out without my plates. While there watched one slow ass clerk do 3 registrations in an hour while the gal next to her did 4 and two others doing even more. Talked with a few ladies sitting across from us and they had been for over 3 hours and still had 50+people ahead of them.
Also reseached the states website on the rules and regulations on registering a vehicle bought out of state only to discover Adams county was requesting paperwork that is not required. What a total PITA!!!

Just FYI, most dealerships will do the VIN verification at no charge. The envirotest people are such jerks about it that I will never visit them to do one again.

What kind of paperwork are they asking for. Should only have to bring in the title, bill of sale, emissions, VIN verification, and proof of Insurance.

I can do a free vin ver for any FR members. Sean its not uncommon for me to have to sit at the dmv for 4+ hours to do my title work

It was the Federal office, I am going to go one of the other two either on 104th or Commerce City. When i used to have to do the titles for the dealership I would get to denver's office and be there for 4 to 5 hours but I was doing a minimum of 8 vehicles at a time.
They were asking for dealers invoice and one of the form I cannot think of right now, I explained to the lady its a 1978 and they didn't have an original invoice. She responded that w/o that she couldn't do anything. A geez how am I going to get an original invoice time travel!

When I bought my Toyota in New Mexico, and drove it up to register it about 18 months ago, all I needed was the VIN verification, title, and insurance. Went fairly smooth. That was Arapahoe County. I have done a few out of state cars there with no problems.

Lets just face it, Adams County as a whole sucks. I haven't dealt with anyone with the county that has even half a brain.
