I have these brand new Polly bushing kits for my rear leaf springs. But I can not seek to get them off of my truck to get them installed. Have any of you ever done these before? I Dont have the proper tools or whatever to remove the leaf springs I guess. I'm frustrated and I can't seem to remove them on my own.
Is this a repair I could get some help with? Or maybe even get help doing while were all on trail Saturday? I've heard from a lot of people its really easy I dunno why I can't get them.
Any thoughts or ideas. Ive only got me. Diamond is still sore from the baby so I have no help.

The bolts tend to rust in side the sleev of the bushing but if your able to turn the bolts they some times grove the bolts on the shackle and not worth you time or efforts to save them. Hack them of and replace with new hard wear. Hope it helps

Have you heated the bolts? Used a cheater bar? Lots of pb blaster?
If you know someone, consider borrowing an impact wrench! Those things are the Shiznit! I may be able to offer some help tuesday!

I'm with Adam, cut the damn things off! You'll probably also have to burn the old bushing out too.

Let that rubber burn ! Agree. You will be there for hours. If it was me and I was going on the run and it is safe to drive. Id save it for a long weekend after the run.

I agree with Adam, choose your battles. When I swapped my leaf springs, I had my back to the wall, in a manner of speaking. I had to got this far, to fix the first problem and swap my second leaf in. A couple hours later, my test drive was picking her up at the airport.

Almost always have to cut those bolts out on XJ's. As hard as those bolts are and since you have to make 2 cuts per bolt to drop the springs out, it takes a while. When you cut, be sure to leave as much of the threaded portion of the bolt sticking out of the uni-body weld nut as possible. You will need enough sticking out to grab onto with some vice grips in order to thread out the rest of the bolt. Not much room for an ez-out.

Same thing happened with my MJ we cut them out no amount of pb blaster would have helped sense we couldnt really get to all of the bolt

Do you have power tools to cut that off ? (4 1/2 grinder with cut off wheel, drills or air tools)?

I got the nuts off the rear of the springs and stopped because I was afraid to get the bolt all the way out and then be unable to reinstall the springs by myself

I had that issue installing my new springs, I had to flatten out the leaves about a 1/2" to get the bolts in, what a pita by myself.
When I took mine out, granted different truck, I threaded the bolt out it that makes sense, I just turned the bolt like I was unscrewing it and it pushed itself out; after a very long time. Towards the end I was able to grab it with locking pliers and work it the rest of the way out. Made for a long night but didn't need to cut anything off. Where you are reusing your springs I wouldn't want to get any cutting tools very close to them, I know I would slip and hit something I didn't want to lol.

Be careful if you try threading the bolt out without cutting it. If the bolt is seized in the bushing the spring will move out with the bolt and press up against the outer part of the spring hanger that is attached to the uni-body. (on the front leaf mounts, not shackle side) It will actually bend the spring hanger and start to tear it away from the uni-body if you thread it out too far. dang uni-body XJ's :)

Good to know sorry if I gave bad advice, mine mount to a bracket on the bottom of my frame with a bolt and nut, do these just thread into the unibody or does it have a nut on the other side.
Here is a vid hope this helps more then my last one. The bolt removal starts at about 3:10.
