I've seen it before- it's called the Explorer. Once a trail capable rig, now a killer mall crawler. A sliding door away from being a full blown minivan.
the new Cherokee is the newest member of the club:

Wow jeep..............
What ever happened to Trail ready always, make it your jeep your way. All or nothing design? Or like re name it to something else Dont call it a Cherokee and then make it so we can't even lift it for bigger tires.
This makes me a sad panda. I actually thought it looked pretty cool too, especially the trail hawk

Sadly too many manufacturers are going this way. Grab ahold of your old technology and hang on tight.

Remember that this is the opinion of one company. The Jeep aftermarket is one of the biggest. Lots of innovative engineers thinking about that.
My JK is a blast, extremely capable, but a money pit. I'm taking a serious look at the Cherokee Trailhawk and think if I put a set of Goodyear Duratrac tires on it it may be a pretty good balance.
I chickened out on Hell's Revenge. This is more capable than my nerves,

I did. I did the Tiptoe through Hell on the Easter Jeep Safari that skips the Tip-Over Challenge, Hell's Gate, and Escalator. Did the rest.

Then you didn't chicken out in my book but I'm pretty much overly cautious myself.

I'm gonna hang on to mine and hand it over to my youngest (with some strings attached when she's old enough)! Can't wait until she is tall enough to reach the pedals!:D
