I have a 99 Ranger king cab. The rear seats fold out from the sides. My wife told me today that she heard about a kit that would make it able to put a child safety seat in the back where it wouldn't face sideways. Has anyone heard of this and if so, where can I get some information about it. I've never heard of such a thing, but if it is possible to do, have it be safe, and is legal, I would like to do it. The Ranger gets better gas mileage than the Bronco does. Thanks all.

I know I can get a car seat in my jump seat. When Dahl (the granddaughter) was small her car seat was up front.
If we had to take the truck as a family Sher (the wife)would set in the back !

Well, Unfortunately, my wife can't fit in the back no more than I can. Right now the car seat is in the front, but only one of us can be in the truck with him.

Stop at the next fire station you see and ask them about options. I've found they are very up-to-date on the best brands, options, recall issues as well as installation technique and what's best for whatever age kid will be in the seat.

I first learned this when having a garage sale and a guy pulled me aside to tell me the seats I was selling were old and dangerous. He then mentioned I can stop by any station (recommended his) with my replacements for them to check over after I installed them.

I know the seat is ok. Already had it checked out and everything with the installation. The problem I running into is I can't install it with it facing sideways in the back of the cab. It has to face straight forward, thus the problem. Back seats fold out sideways.

Ditto on the firestation. Those guys are the install experts. They will gladly help out. They will show you how to install it properly.
