Wasn't there an issue with crossing private property for Moody? Some old memory was stirred...

Well the guy updated the post and said that they sent up people who had never seen the trails before and when they saw the rock ledges, exposed roots and stream crossings on all of those trails they saw flood damage. Not knowing that the trails have had virtually no change. The club that was meeting with the forest service liaison said that the research group brought photos and the trails looked normal to the club members. The club members are going to bring time stamped photos to the next meeting showing that the trails have been open in those conditions and it is normal. Kelly flats is having issues because residents want the road closed. Big mess but deadman area is supposed to open normally and MSV looks to open after the inevitable large runoff at the end of May.

That was Crystal Mountain, which you could kind of call being part of Moody but they are technically two separate trails. At least before the flood last year, there were no signs or gates on Crystal, and the Forest Service/Sheriff's department made statements that until those were installed they would not enforce anything. This could have changed in the interim though, especially considering what is becoming a common stance with "the authorities" and flood damaged trails and decided to just close access.

Pretty disappointing if they follow through and actually do this. I realize that some of the trails are accessed by roads affected by the floods last year, but none of these are really in creeks or flood plains, so its kind of bogus to just assume that normal trail wear is equivalent to flood damage.
