My wife bought a 1987 Toyota Pickup Hot Wheels for my daughter yesterday. It was a 2013 release. Too bad I sold my 87 and now have an 86. Either way, it is apparently considered a classic now!

I actually have a large number of the original ones from the 1960's. My cousin gave them to me when I was a toddler. I also have mine from the 70's and 80's. There must be 300 of them. They are always fun to dig out and look at.

Up til about six years ago I had over 1200 Hot wheels and 150 of the 1/24th scale die cast cars, now I have a dozen or so.

I sold all 500-600 of my hot wheels in a garage sale years ago. I am so mad at myself because there was a bunch that my dad gave me from his collection that are probably worth lots by now.
I did find an '85 4runner that I bought a few weeks ago. It is awesome. Now I need to find a real 85 runner to go with this one. I doubt that the hotwheels willprovide the same motivation to my wife though...

Where does that put me, I had both Tonkas and Hot Wheels :)
I made the mistake of moving out when I was 17, left most all my stuff(records, legos, game systems at the time, etc., mom threw most of it away :(. But I still got me old skate board!!

I didn't even think about it but two years ago I bought several old Tonkas that I never got to have as a kid, the bulldozer, road grader and a few more. Won't be selling them anytime soon.

I have the Tonka toys too. I kept my original ones from when I was a kid, along with my original Star Wars toys.

And I have the large dump truck, as well as the pickup truck with the dump bed. Tonka toys were the best. Too bad they don't make them like that anymore.

Don't you mean Lincoln Logs and Erector Sets, Tom? :) That's what I remember playing with.

I was lucky to have uncles that were in their teens when I was growing up, had the original GI Joes, tonkas, matchbox sets, Lincoln logs, army men and tanks. etc., even had an erector set, that built a crane. That was my favorite.

Ah, the Erector sets - raw metal and a worm gear output electric motor to plug into 110vAC (no wimpy batteries) to connect with an open sided gearbox to see what each gear DID - good stuff.
