New Member in Castle Rock

Hey everyone. New to the forum and living in Castle Rock. Like to get out as much as I can, my wife and I have a two year old son and am the founder and president of Set Them Free and Set Them Free Off Road and not for profit foundation that raises money to fund human trafficking rescue missions through an annual off road event. Would love for all to join us this year. Someone already started a thread here so visit that thread or our website www.stfoffroad.com for more info.

I checked out your web site and plan on making a donation but I have a couple questions that I couldn't find the answers to on your site. How exactly are these little girls (and boys, I presume) lured away from their family? Does it start with unstable parenting? Poverty? Kidnapping? How do you connect with the kids on a one-on-one basis to get them out of immediate danger? I could go on-and on with questions, but I won't. It would be very interesting to know the process of how rescuing and rehabilitating these victims works.

Jackie, thank you and really good questions! The unfortunate reality is that there is really no one general answer to your questions and there are many circumstances that contribute to victims being trafficked. The deeper into the work we get the more and more broken hearted over the subject we become as we hear so many different stories. I can tell you that I have heard stories with every the circumstance you mentioned above. I have heard of a woman from Florida that brought her 15 year old daughter to NY during the Super Bowl to sell her all the way up to fake job offers to kidnappings. If you check out our FB (facebook.com/setthemfreeinc) you can read a few stories we have posted.

As far as our role in rescuing goes we have joined the already amazing efforts of a group called International Justice Mission for overseas work and are working on a case by case basis for some local efforts. In the last twelve months we have funded a full rescue mission in India which covered everything from investigative work, working with local authorities authorities, rescuing three underage girls from a brothel, placing the in safe houses and even arresting three suspects. In addition to the overseas work we helped in the transition of a now former prostitute into a rehabilitation home and now back into society.

Would anyone here be interested in attending a showing of the movie Nafarious to learn more about the subject?
