Thanks to Steve (Scoutman) my truck is ready to take on the rocks again. Now I don't have to worry as much about the underside as I did before. These are bolt-on skids made by RCI in FoCo but since my sliders are welded in the same spot the t-case crossmember is made to bolt on Steve welded it for me yesterday. The conditions were less than ideal in windy Elizabeth with what had to be 30mph winds but he got it done anyway. Thanks Steve!

Looks great! I also have RCI skids. Mine have more holes than yours though.

How many pieces are there? It looks like one great big, seamless skid!

Hmmm - would this be a trade-off between lower highway MPG's due to weight or higher MPG's due to reduced air friction???

There are 3 parts in the picture that overlap each other where they meet leaving the next piece under the one before it. I didn't buy RCI's gas tank skid because mine is beat to hell but okay. I did add the a-arm skids they offer. Honestly I'm so impressed with the quality I may get the gas skid anyway.

They weigh about 100lbs and some believe the decrease in drag does offset the weight. My mpg's have improved dramatically since they went on and I removed my roof rack. Maybe the two combined have me just slipping through all wind resistance.
(Or maybe it's the move from Winter mix of the gas to Summer mix.

Those should protect the t-case. Did you get the case repaired?

We'll see, I just did the JB Weld for now to see if it lasts. More out of curiosity than unrealistic expectations. I do have a replacement sitting in the garage when the need arises.
