We all had a great time bashing through snowbanks, grillin', and hanging out! The snow was a good consistency, so we were able to make progress through it.

We got stopped at the "top" of the trail, shown in the middle pictures where we were walking on the top of snow drifts.

Thank you for the report. How deep was the snow?

depths varied from 0 to 4', some ice under the snow too. will be a few weeks yet before it opens up where it is more easily manageable. we probably made it about a 3rd of the way.

Looks like you didn't get far past the cabins. But this pic tells me what I need to know. My favorite camp area is accessible! :thumb:

I'm not sure where but the forum's coffer is holding funds to purchase another permit/reservation. I'm looking to see if there are plans for another Pickle Party this season.

it's a pretty silly video, I promise it would be better if I have 4-5 hours to invest...and maybe a degree in film:)

To the left of the tracks (up in the evergreens past the tilted aspen) there is a nice stone fire ring. Great place to camp. Hoping to be up there Memorial weekend - depends if there is a fire ban or not.

Wanted to head up to Pickle this week, (like tomorrow or Thursday) but I hear the Blackhawk/CC area got around 18.5" of fresh snow from this spring storm. Any truth to the snow totals?

One of my coworkers lives in the area, around 9000' elevation. He said he got 22" of snow on Saturday.

yup, we're at close to 21" and I live about a mile from the trailhead. so yeah, it's a no-go for a while.
