Anybody familiar with backup cameras? I'm looking into adding one behind my camper trailer for visibility instead of the mirrors. W-fi sounds best but looking for experience with them.

I would just add a connecter. I had a customer do this and he would unplug the trucks back up camera and plug in the trailer or something similar.

FWIW: I got an iBall wireless backup camera system. The camera is battery powered and has a magnet for attachment, also waterproof. The receiver plugs into a lighter socket and the (small) screen is on a gooseneck from that. It's intended to be used as needed rather than left installed all the time. I've used it only a couple of times so far. You still have to be good enough at backing to get close, it won't help much from 20 feet away IMO. The camera should be directly in line with the hitch otherwise the sight lines get confusing, especially since the camera is fairly wide angle.
I ordered it directly from the manufacturer. I'm glad I did because the first unit had a defect but the company was great and replaced it no problem, even though I had opened it and fiddled with the battery connections thinking it was just intermittent.

I have a backup camera (stock) for hitch viewing Bob, to clarify, I'm looking for one that can be used as a rearview mirror when driving down the road.

I have installed a few, have thought about the camper idea myself. I don't think it would be hard. Just have to add a connector of sorts to the back of your runner.
