Rampart Range Road

Decided the last minute today to go take a cruise up Rampart Range Road. Double checked online and all indications are it's open as of 1 May. Got to Garden of the Gods just to find the Rampart Range Road gate closed. Anyway, just thought I'd share and see if anyone had any more info about the closure.

We've been talking about it up here and no-one has any information.

Last time I tried making it through was last year around july sometime (I think) and it was still closed from the fire just past hotel gulch.

I got some clarification now that the Forrest Service offices are open again after the holiday. The area between C-Springs and Woodland Park will remain closed due to the Waldo Canyon fire that burned off nearly all vegetation. The road will not open until the area vegetation has recovered, so the closure is indefinite. However, the Rampart Range Motorized Recreation Area is open as of 1 May.
