Hello FR4x4, adding another 4Runner driver to the mix here. My name is Nick and I'm a newcomer to off-roading, looking to wheel with some experienced folks to gain some skills and confidence with driving and recovery techniques. I've been in CO for just over 2 years now, decided last year that I needed something off-road capable and found an '07 4Runner SR5 in our budget. Last year we did a few easy trails like Weston Pass and Jones Pass and some forest roads and 4x4 trailheads. This spring I added a 2" lift (FJ springs up front, ToyTec Superflex rear, Bilstein 5100's all around) and I'm planning to add skid plates and sliders in the near future.

My main goal off-roading is to get to the beautiful places this state has to offer for photography, I do a lot of landscape photography and my wife and I like to camp and get out of the city to explore the places that most people don't ever get to. Here's a few pics of the truck around CO. Looking forward to getting out with y'all!

Looks like a nice 4Runner. I have been looking into a similar setup with the FJ springs.
Hope to be able to meet up and check yours out :thumb:

Did you lift it and lower the diff, or just lift it?

No diff drop. I'm at 1.75" on the front 5100's with barely used springs off an '08 4x4 FJ and I got exactly 2" lift. I got it done at Rock Toy Industries up in Commerce City and they agreed that under 3" the diff drop isn't really necessary. I'm hoping to put another 100,000mi on this truck so I was a bit hesitant to lift it for fear of putting too much stress on the CVs or other components, but the axles sit perfectly level now so I'm not worried. Overall I'm really happy, the ride is greatly improved over stock, less body roll in corners and soaks up bumps on and off road much better.

That's good info. I've been researching what to do with my suspension. It's stock and I want a little more clearance.
The setup you have is what I have been narrowing my research down to. FJ springs on a 4Runner with 5100's.
