Do I need to by the carriers as well I found the set of gears and master install kit but I have no idea what is needed please help. Thanks in advance.

okay dana 44 and down axles split at 3.73 and down and 3.90 and up so yes you need a carrier and the master install kit is a good thing to do

I run 4:88's and 35's on my Explorer. It set it almost back to stock rpm for the highway travel. I should have held out for the 5:13's (for some gear for crawling), but everyone was out at the time. I have been happy with the 4:88's.

I run 4.88 in my XJ on 35s. Got almost 18 mpg on way back from Buena Vista fully loaded from camping. The Dana 30 will need a high ratio carrier as well.

Yes on needing new carriers.
Do yourself a huge favor and save up for full-case selectable lockers....you'll thank me later.

I cant seem to find the new carriers anywhere. Everywhere I look all i seem to find is just the ring and pinion set not the carriers. I ordered the gears and instal kit from rwk hauss supply. Does anybody know the part number I need for the carriers. Hopefully not to expensive. My wife already has me in the doghouse for buying stuff for my jeep. So any help is much appreciated.

you shouldn't need a new carrier for the 44 then if you have the thick cut gears

75-90, any house brand is perfectly fine as long as it has an API Seal.
Don't get suckered into the Red Line/Lucas/Royal Purple nonsense.
