Jenny Creek, August 3
Meet at the Stage Stop at 9:30 am
I do not have CB so the channel will be established for those who do when we meet up.

Take 119 and you should pass right by the town the Stage Stop (60 Main St, Rollinsville, CO 80474) is the only restaurant in town

I'd prefer not to be leading since I do not know the trail and I am slow on trails. If someone is willing to lead say so!

If you are on the fence about going and will not be sure until the day of I'd be more then happy to give you my number so you can contact me the day if you are able to go and we will wait. I will check the website before I leave my house as well which should be around 8ish.

I should be able to make this run, I also do not know the trail, so another leader would be great.

Is there a place to park a trailer? I think I will take the 93 on its first run, so I want to trailer it, just in case.

I would like to take my brother on this trail. He is riding his motorcycle from MO on Friday. If he is up to it, I will put my name on the go list. He will be riding with me.

I just saw a post on Facebook indicating Jenny Creek just got closed. This seems contradictory, as I know a few people have already run it. I also had some friends who camped there on Saturday and when I asked him if it was closed, his response was 'I am gonna call, but there is a big closed sign at the creek, and at the top the Jenny Creek sign is gone. There has been a lot of trail work done in the area, and sadly it looks like the main trail is closed.' So, two separate reports of this closure now.

I hope this isn't true, but you'll want to confirm before you make your plans.

I heard they re-routed the trail, but really do not know. A friend ran it last weekend and said you only run up the creek about 30 yards and the rest has been re routed.

Follow-up to my earlier response. My friend who camped there over the weekend followed-up with Boulder County and here is his response:

me and a friend wheeled JC yesterday morning and saw that they closed off the rocks and the trail led to the right.

we wheeled all the way up to where JC runs into 820, turned around and followed 802 spur until it met back up with the main JC trail. it's pretty much a 4-rated or less trail now, just FYI. nothing too challenging.

So they are planning on closing it this Friday august 1? I can call whoever I need to tomorrow before work and find out. For calling should I just call up boulder county forest service? When I do find out I'll report back. Plan B Kingston?

I think they just rerouted it. Plan B is always good and Kingston is on my list, a good plan.

Alright so I just got off the phone with the boulder ranger district and was told that it'll be open August 3 but will have some closed signs around the trail. Most of the trail will be accessible but not all. Also she told me that it will be completely closed around August 11. It stands that we will still be running Jenny Creek.

so yeah, just to reiterate, if anyone who is "small" wants to go, I say go for it. there's nothing with the re-route that pretty much any stock 4x4 can't handle. so go have fun!

remember to turn left at 802 (808? I can't quite remember) where the logging has been done. if you stay straight, it only goes for another 1/4 mile before dead-ending into 820, which is closed to all motor vehicles.
