I have a funny noise in my Jeep, a light clicking sound from the rear when I engage from a stop or almost stop. I guesses u joint, they're original, so I pulled my driveshaft and put my spare in. I'm going to replace both joints and am always interested in upgrading- does anyone know of something better than Spicer?

A heads up so you don't waste your time / $$- I got some spare parts in trade a bit back and included were some ujoints- a new looking Nippon (IIRC) and a NIB Carquest brand. I tried them, visually they look OK. The Nippon is maybe a mm too long, can't seat the second clip, and the carquest one is sized so the zerk conflicts with the yoke. Cheap parts are their own reward... and I'm glad I found out they don't fit in my garage, not on the side of a mountain.

I've had the best luck with Spicer or NAPA Super Strength u-joints.

Autozone U joints for a samurai are $8.99. In my modified samurai they last about 2 months. I can't afford those cheap u-joints! I finally bought some japanese ujoints for $49.99 and they lasted for years.

This weekend we were headed to holy cross early Saturday and my friends Bronco right rear was leaking 90wt out. Got the shaft out and called around for a seal and bearing, Checker had a bearing for $6.99 unbelievable! Took us a bit of calling and a long drive to find one at a NAPA that we could trust.

I guess autoparts are what the government uses to calculate the inflation rate when they claim there isn't inflation.

looks like I'll possibly need some differential bearings too, so NAPA it is. Super Strength sounds good to me! :thumb: Thanks!
