Need help!!!! (CV Joints)

Got new half shafts/axles with my new suspension. How do i get them damn CV joints out of the housings? I thought there was a cap on the end (the shiny part) but it wouldn't come off and the more I looked at it the more it looked like it was part of the housing. I think once i get the joints off, then there is just a snap ring on both sides i need to get off, then reverse with new axle? Any help on getting the cap off or how to get that joints out would be great!!

On the inside of the housing, about 3 mm in should be a round snap ring. THey usually just pop out with a small flat head, or you can grab it with some needle nose pliers.

And the other one is the internal compression ring? Just whack it off?

Well you could whack it off if it makes you feel better.
You could cut it off or you could shoot it with a slug. But most people just remove and reuse, just sayin'! :D

I meant to get the cv joint off the axle. not how to get the ring off the axle.

I use a 5lbs brass hammer and some times they are just a mother trucker if you cant get it give me a call.303-781-0554
