Slip Yoke question

do slip yokes have a gasket internally? I ask because there was a mass of fiber in the female part of the slip yoke. My chiltons says nothing about a gasket or seal?

Generally on the Toyota shafts there is no sort of gasket or seal on the splined part of the shaft. Yours is newer than what I have, so maybe the design is different.

you talking about the driveshaft halves or the one in the t-case ?? either way ive never heard of inside gaskets on either but thats just what ive seen
