I've a 5 day weekend and would like to wheel at least a couple of days. Haven't run Bill Moore lake this year and wouldn't mind that along with the Empire loop w/o Elephant Hill.
Totally open to any other, not too extreme, ideas. Anyone want to get out?????

Hi Tom - its a little ways out, but would certainly like to get out at least once that weekend. Any of those trails sound good, especially Kingston Peak (mostly b/c I have not done it.)

One thing I haven't done yet in Colorado is do a 4x4 camping trip with some good fishing involved. Well, i camped at a place in Buena Vista and went 4 wheeling but it's not the same as getting to a spot that only 4x4's can get to, do some camping and drop a line for some fish dinner. How about we plan on that for the weekend? I have a new backpacking tent that's laughing at me in my closet. I can hear it at night. Kinda freaking me out. LOL. Sorta sounds like "CHUCKY". LOL!!!:lmao::D:lmao::lmao:
I have Sat-Mon. off.

My camping gear is worn out. I don't do well sleeping on the ground anymore. Looking for day trips myself. Doesn't mean you can't set something up though. Others would probably be interested

Paul's looking into a North Sand Dunes - accessed from the east side / Hohnholz (FISHING) lakes (and there is other good fishing - accessible to anyone in North Park)...
`might not be right on target for 4x4 only fishing, but perhaps doable.

I'm not sure. I was checking it out this morning in my 4x4 book.
I'll check tonight further and get specifics.

Actually was thinking starting at the cemeteries above CC, heading to Apex, then around to Kingston, followed by Yankee Hill back to the cemeteries.

I'll go If we can run it from Central City to Fall River road. I did the opposite direction a couple of weeks ago. What are you planning?

I hear Storm Mountain (and perhaps Storm Drain) are open...
Them alone or perhaps with the western / overlook loop of Pole Hill for a couple close, short trails.

I think I could be easily swayed. It doesn't look like I'll be getting together with family (though a last minute could pop up).
Perhaps I should clean my air filter...

Sniffle, sniffle....:frontrange4x4::GroupHug: I think they understand me!:lmao:
I remember a place I visited around the tin cup area. I also want to check out a place S. of Salida and west on hwy. 50.
I'd like to leave at the butt crack of dawn (4 or 5am) on Saturday and be somewhere on a mountain by 10 or so with camp set and chillin'.
Who's with me? :thumb:
