I knew since it was a Monday, that we'd probably be going at it alone, but that's ok. we had a blast! not too many pics of wheeling, since it's mostly a gravel bumpy trail, but there are 3 short sections that I think really make it harder than traildamage says it is. they have it rated as a 2, but I think it should probably be a 3-4 depending on the skill of the driver. there were 3 rocky sections that I'm not sure a stock vehicle could make w/out good spotting and some scraping. it looked really washed out, I'm guessing by all the rain last fall.

I took my brother and his two sons, 9 and 4. they LOVED the Jeep. "go faster!" was always the request, even as bumpy as it was, haha.

anyways...pics!

beautiful sunny day all day, with a few sprinkles whilst we fished.

one of the said rocky sections...obviously the pics don't do it justice. no lockers needed, but I'm also on 35s, so...

got to the lake, and my it was beautiful! our first high-country fishing since we moved here. we'll definitely be going back.

I caught my first fish on my fly rod within about 3 casts, then my nephew caught one on a worm/bobber just a few minutes after that. my brother tried his hand at fly fishing for the first time, but got skunked. in fact, we all got skunked after those first two fish! but it was still a lot of fun.

my nephew, not paying attention to his bobber...

lastly, we loaded up and drove up to the second lake and got a shot by the water.

lots of fun, and the boys had a blast. I think I may have poisoned their minds about 4x4s. all they talked about the rest of the trip was "riding in the Jeep" and driving up rocks. :)

Watching kids catch fish is almost as much fun as fishing itself! We were on Mirror Lake last weekend and had a similar experience. Good times all around!

I was up there the other week with a friend and was surprised to see the amount of people up there, it was a Saturday and every camping site was occupied and there were still people driving up the road. I was also surprised to see all of the "stock vehicles up there, subaru outbacks and honda CRVs....

haha, must have scrapped a bit on some of the rocks!

seriously though, good tire placement could get any vehicle up there, I just thought those few places were a lot rougher than a 2 rating.
