Good platform to start with. naxja.org and cherokeefourm.com will become some of your best friends.

Take that tow hook off the back!

I was looking at one in the junkyard and another guy told me about having one get airborne when he needed to use it. He said it pulled the bolts through the factory mounting system.

I said thanks!

Clean Cherokee. One of the first things you should do with the mono frame is stiffen it. Frame stiffeners prevent the twisting of the frame and are well worth it. Next is rock sliders. It looks very capable as is, make sure everything is tight and sound and enjoy.
frame stiffeners I used, allowed me to do long arm conversion and extend stiffener later

Good lookin XJ. X4 on sliders, only takes once to not be able to open a door. A frame mounted receiver hitch makes a good recovery tow point and not too expensive at the U-pull.

Skid Plates first. Youd be amazed the stuff you can drag over.
And cover what you dont want a hole in !!!
And also, Sliders X 4...

Lower control arm mount skids. Cheap to have done or free if you can weld and have some extra metal. Doing these early, before they are bent pays off. LCA mounts on the axle do not have a lot strength side to side and can deform easily. By welding on LCA skids, you gain a ton of strength and the risk of them bending and breaking later on down the road goes way down.

steering box support plates are also a good idea on a cherokee. they are known to split the frame around the steering box. also adding a rear hitch for a recovery point would be alot better option than that hook as was already suggested
