What's up guys? I haven't been around in a few months due to my rig being out of commission, but I'm finally back up and running and fiending for a trail ride!
Back story: I was on my way home from Burning Man in the desert of Nevada and having some serious temperature issues. Finally had a bad overheat and "broke down" 20 miles from Elko, NV where I had the rig towed. I got stuck in that town of 18,000 people for two days until U-Haul opened so I could rent a truck and auto transport to tow it home. I've heard of a notorious cylinder head crack in 2000 XJ's and after looking into it more, it described a lot of my symptoms so I got a new heavy duty casting from Clearwater. Some 14 hours of work later over 2 months (distracted by work, a woman and rainy days), it's finally back together. I was absolutely ecstatic when it fired up on the first crank; I drove it straight to the liquor store to celebrate.
Anyway, I'm totally ready to get it back on the trails! I don't care what trail or day except Mondays and Tuesdays, so if anyone's up for a ride, make a suggestion!
And no more road trips in the trail rig :tisktisk:
