YouTube and my high school auto class

Hey everyone Iam in the process of creating a YouTube account that’s specifically for teachingproposes with my High school auto tech class.

I’m reachingout to everyone one here in hopes of providing great videos, I may have not ranacross myself.

Videos I amlooking include: shop safety (eyes, hands, lifts, equipment)
Preventative maintenance(wheels, tires, oil, all fluids)
Drivetrain (differentials,T case, auto and manual transmissions)
Engines (rebuilding,R&R)
Brakes
Electrical (testing,DVOM)
Diagnostics(obd2, scan tools, DVOM)

The more technicaland or animated the better, they can be a how too, or even a really cool vidthat you think would be beneficial for them to see.


We do have somegood videos to use but they are somewhat out dated…..no really out dated theyare still on VHS cassettes HAHA.

This is going to be a teaching too strickly in you class for you and your students in the future. Or as a class project make videos for anyone on youtube?

this will be just a collection of YouTube Vids others have made. one reason I want to make this YouTube page is to more efficient and effective in and out side the classroom. I/we don't really have time to make our own vids but maybe someday we can if we find the time.

Its more machinist type stuff, but both Oxtoolco (https://www.youtube.com/user/oxtoolco) and Abom79 (https://www.youtube.com/user/Abom79) do a great job showing Mill and Lathe work and explaining their processes. The only Automotive part I can think of was Abom79 did a video on upgrading the mounts for an aftermarket fuel rail where he drill new holes and tapped them, then made little tabs to weld onto the fuel rail so they didn't flex as much.

Its not Youtube, but I think Xtreme Offroad and the other Power Nation shows do a great job explaining things in an interesting way too.

I'll keep an eye out on more automotive type stuff too.
