Looking for some additional light on or off-road?

We at JADFab, located in Fort Collins, would like to introduce our HiFire line of CREE LED Light Pods and Flush Mount Pods!

http://i952.photobucket.com/albums/ae8/Freerider2011/PODFinal2_zpsb695e965.jpg (http://s952.photobucket.com/user/Freerider2011/media/PODFinal2_zpsb695e965.jpg.html)

These have seemingly limitless uses: Bumpers, Reverse Lights, Roof Lights, Rock Lights, Trailer Lights, Truck Box Lights, Boat Lights, heck they've even been used as home security lights!

Flush Mounts OR Pods...only $80 per pair, which includes a COMPLETE plug and play harness so there no worry about messy wiring!

These are 3x2, 18W LED Light Pods with CREE LED's (not Epistars). These lights are small but put out an enormous amount of quality light for their size.

I have both spot and flood beam available.

Light Specs:

- 1800 Lumens
- Operating Voltage: 10 - 30 DC
- IP68 Waterproof Rating
- Poly Carbonate Lens

Dimensions:

Pods:

3" T x 3.25" W x 3" D

Flush Mounts:

- Face: 4-3/4" W x 3-1/2" T
- Flush Mount Part of Pod Body: 3" T x 3-1/4" W x 2-7/8" D

As mentioned above, the lights come with a COMPLETE dual plug & play harness. This means each harness has two plugs for each light in the pair.

http://i952.photobucket.com/albums/ae8/Freerider2011/harness_zps46432659.jpg (http://s952.photobucket.com/user/Freerider2011/media/harness_zps46432659.jpg.html)

What do the harnesses have?:

- Quality Deutsch Weatherproof Connectors
- On/Off Switch
- Large Blade Fuse and Fuse Holder
- Automotive Relay
- Ring Terminals for Battery Post Connection

It doesn't get much, if any, easier to get your light running than it does with this harness. Simply connect the power and ground terminals, connect to your lights, and mount the switch!

Now, some companies will "say" their lights are waterproof. But as some say "the proof is in the pudding!"

Waterproof Testing: How about submerging lights in an aquarium for well over a week?

http://i952.photobucket.com/albums/ae8/Freerider2011/PodAq1Final_zpscd0efd7e.jpg (http://s952.photobucket.com/user/Freerider2011/media/PodAq1Final_zpscd0efd7e.jpg.html)

Did they still work? That they did (and still very much do)!

http://i952.photobucket.com/albums/ae8/Freerider2011/PodAQ2Final_zpsadc6b880.jpg (http://s952.photobucket.com/user/Freerider2011/media/PodAQ2Final_zpsadc6b880.jpg.html)

The lights were repeatedly turned on and off throughout the day, for well over a week.

Not only were the lights tested, but their connectors were submerged as well. What good is a waterproof light if the connectors aren't waterproof too?

But why stop there? Some lights don't like the cold, so how about freezing a light in a solid block of ice?

http://i952.photobucket.com/albums/ae8/Freerider2011/BlockTogetherPodFinal_zps05a1e3d1.jpg (http://s952.photobucket.com/user/Freerider2011/media/BlockTogetherPodFinal_zps05a1e3d1.jpg.html)

Once again, the light nor connector were remotely phased and still had no water in them!

Living, eating, and breathing this sport, I will only sell lights that I personally use myself, and will hold up to the abuse we all would and do put them through.

Thank you!

- Justin

Do you have any representation of the difference in light throw between spot and flood?

Hey, that I do.

I'm working on getting some better pictures since these don't remotely to them justice, but here are a few (only one pod being shown, not the light output from a pair):

Across the garage (about 40'):

Spot:

Flood:

Outside (Tree is at about 50 yards) :

Flood

As I said, the photos don't really do them much justice. I'm working with a friend to get some respectable shots with a camera with a better exposure rate.

Do you know if the flush mounts will fit a JK wrangler's stock bumper fog lamp holes?

I can't speak to the stock fog light holes offhand and them fitting in there without a bit of modifications.

However, I have had several people mount the regular pods on top of the bumpers.

I'm just saying if those mounts are the same, then I suppose they'll work. There are so many JK's around, it shouldn't be hard to try one out to see if it fits! I have stock fog lights in mine by the way *wink* *wink*

So, are you saying you want to be a guinea pig? :D

Upon a further look, I'm not 100% those mounts would work.

My lights are center mounted (hole for swivel mount is centered on the light), where as the rigid lights look to have the mount lower.

The brackets would still be usable, but would need to be modified slightly I do believe.

You know Justin, I hear you're pretty savvy with CAD. I have access to a CNC plasma cutter. Maybe we should make brackets like that for your lights. I happen to have a JK to test fit them into as well. Hit me up if you want to figure it out.

NOW you tell me this!? :lmao:

Yeah whipping up a set of brackets to work for these lights couldn't be that difficult. If I can't nail that down, then my Mech. Eng. degree was REALLY worthless :D

I've also got and idea for something else winch/light wise that as far as I know, NO one else produces. :thumb:

My biggest issue has been not having access to something like ProE, Inventor, SolidWorks, to whip out the .dxf files.

Do you have any with amber to use as a fog light vers driving light? I have a set of the bumper style you have and i love them, you can't even see my head lights and what a world of difference night time driving is.

That I do not. All the covers that clip onto the front I've seen for the lights, don't tend to last very long.

I've had a couple people buy them and DYI it. It seems the best way to get an amber output, and for it to last is either:
1.) Have a piece of amber colored poly carbonate cut to the same size as the PC that comes in the light and swap it out.
2.) Get some stick on Amber see through vinyl or whatever that stuff is, and do like you would when tinting a window (cut, stick, get out air bubbles).

Do you make custom lighting length? Friend looking at something strange.

Nope sorry.

For the most part LED Pods and LED bars (I have two lines of bars coming in) are all going to be pretty standard lengths, especially since with how the LED "tape" or "ribbons" are.

Your standard length that your going to find are: 6-8", 12-14", 20-22", 30-32", 40-42", 50"-52".

Many times, those sizes like 6-8" mean the same size light. Some people just give different points of measurement on how they reference their bars.

I will have 8", 14", 22", 32", 42", 50", and curved 50" in two lines...just waiting for them to show up.

I will have a specific one that is HARD to find anywhere (that isn't $$$) that I will be carrying for a special mount I'm going to be designing, and that will be a 10" bar.

Are you going to stay with 3W emitters?

Are you going to stay with 3W emitters?

Eventually I plan on offering both 3W (double row) and 10w (single row) emitters.

Initially though, yes I will only have the two lines of light bars and light pods that have CREE 3W LED's.

Is there anything in particular you'd be looking for?

I have always thought, correct me if I am wrong, that the higher watt emmiter would "throw" further and made better spot lights. My light bar is a 25 in 128w bar and it lights up everything with in 200 ft like daylight. But the throw is meh for longer straights in the mountains.

Well keep me in the loop. I am really interested in doing something like that. Seeing those brackets Rugged Ridge makes has me all ready to get some bright ass lights where my fog lights are.

The thing is there are SO many factors to optics, that just changing the LED's themselves doesn't exactly mean that it will be different. The Lens (reflector cups) have to be sized certain ways, distance the LED sits within the cups, etc.

As well, different LED's are somewhat apples and oranges to one another in that case. For example, A 3W CREE LED is rated for somewhere around 300lm, a 5W ~575lm, and a 10W ~1200lm. But, with that...also comes the spacing within the light. You can fit 3W and 5W LED's closer than you can 10Ws. That is why single row bars tend to be made of 10W LED's to keep the best ratio of space per lumens.

I personally can't say that I've felt anything has lacked any light "power" that I've had. Still blows away and incandescent auxiliary lights I've ever had. If you point it straight out, and there is nothing to hit in the distance, or no particulate in the air, your light won't have anything to "reflect" off of. I've pointed my bars down slightly since I'm more worried about stuff from the road to about 6ft. off the ground, not so much lighting trees up that are 300+ yards away.

Lets get together and knock something out then after this holiday season stuff is all over.

I'll definitely keep that in mind :D

Being a Mech. Eng. without access to drawing programs kinda makes you feel empty inside somewhere :lmao:
