So over the weekend I did many ajustments to the ZJ, I got her long arms stretched out and evened, found out I need a new track bar, and a complete new drag link. But I've also noticed the Jeep does not ever engage over drive. I have an O/D on off button but it doesn't do anything at all.

I looked over the Trans and saw no unplugged connectors, I have no blown fuses that I could find, but am missing quite a few. She is getting WAY better mpg now but still without over drive I'm at 3,700 rpm at 70mph.

Ive driven it many times this weekend and not felt od engage one time. So any ideas? Or has anyone had this issue at all? I'm throwing 0 obd1 codes.

I believe you have the AW4 transmission in that. The first thing I would do is check the switch itself and see if it is working. Both of the gear selector solenoids should be disengaged for OD, and the TC lockup solenoid should be energized. It would appear to me if you unplug the switch and drive it, it should go into OD unless you have mechanical or solenoid issue. Only other possibility I see is crossed wires energizing solenoid 2 when it shouldn't be.

OK. I'll have to disamble the dash and unplug that switch and give her a drive.

It doesn't have an aw4 but rather a Chrysler trans. 4th feel or something like that. They were very problem matic.

I have seen AW-4s in Grand Cherokees equipped with the 4.0l engine.

So it does not bolt to the 318?

Oh my bad, thought you had a ZJ with 4.0.
