I have some questions about the best way to start in the electricians field.

I have a good client who owns/runs an electrical business (local to us). I'm sure he'd be willing to answer a few questions, on the phone with you if you wish. Let me know and I could check with him and see / set a phone call up.

only way is as an apprentice. have to have 8000 logged and verified hours to take the journeymans test. typical necessary tool load to be competant is around $1000, based on nothing already had. i recommend you work for a non union, high volume shop. they have the most work available. its a tough job, but rewarding at many times.
if you make the jump, let me know before you buy any tools. i have a bunch i no longer need. will give you a great price.
I worked for ADK Elec Corp for 5 years. have hours to test, but chose not to.
also, go commercial. resi guys are not capable in commercial, but commercial guys are in the resi field.

Thanks for the info Joe. Have we met before? I don't remember your Xterra. Did you have something before? Are you still in the area?
