So is this the "ultimate non-4x4"? Since it really doesn't have 4 wheels it isn't a 4x4, but has still been a fun build! Thought I should post what I have been working on recently. Hope to take it "out" either this Summer or Fall and kick around with it!

It is a Cushman Trackster from the early 1970's. Curb weight of 1070 pounds with the removeable top/doors installed. Hydrostatic steering so it can do 360 spins in one spot. Has rubber tracks so it is capable of running on pavement, grass, mud, sand, snow, etc without damaging anything.

Was originally a 29-ish hp 2 stroke, 2 cylinder, horizontally opposed carb'd Cushman engine. I yanked that out for a Geo Metro 59ish hp 3 cyl, water cooled, 4 stroke, fuel injection. Still working out the end details but the engine is in and it runs!

Very cool! Trailer that up for the adopt-a-trail event, who knows what we could do with it.

I agree with that, put a hitch on and small trailer for all the trash pick up. Or better yet the coolers.

that is really sweet! I would totally rock that on the trails!

It is intended to seat 4 people with a capacity of 800 pounds. Also has a trailer capacity of 1,000 pounds and already has the hitch built in. Runs a 45 degree slope. Also traverses a 45 degree slope.

Before I get that gutsy it will get a cage. Best thing is that it has a "footprint" psi of about .60psi to 1.0psi depending on how much weight is in it. A human footprint is about 1.0psi, so with only1 operator, the "impact" into the soil is reduced. Unfortunately since the pressure is spread out, there is more damage, just the damage isn't a severe as a human footprint. Almost like wearing snowshoes!

SO, once I have it all up and running/tested would be happy to bring it on a trail cleanup. Can go virtually anywhere! Will also be getting a Ramsey 6,000 winch (overkill for 1,000 pounds). Should be super handy to have around!

Wow, that thing is wild. Very cool! I think it should be camo'd.

There is one that was done very tastefully in a "snow camo". Almost like zebra stripes. It is a sweet one! Basically what I am shooting for!

That is definately the coolest one I have seen. They did the paint, offroad lights, rhino-lined inside, walls/ceiling have some sort of headliner, and the seat was reupholstered. Basically everything that mine will have when I finish!

I would die to have a little snow cat, the ones I have checked out were close to $60,000, although they were bigger and newer models. Am curious too!
