Thinking of heading to the mountains this weekend. Looking to do a moderate to hard trail. I am east of Castle Rock, but I haven’t been out in a while, so willing to drive wherever I need to in order to make this work. Only caveat is that I am expecting a large freight delivery and I have to be here when it shows up. Not sure when that will be yet, but if it happens to be Sunday then I might have to bail. I don’t plan on that being the case though. Anyone interested? Suggestions?

I may be interested depending on what you mean by "moderate to hard". Maybe as long as there are bypasses :)
What is open this time of year?
Looks like Sevenmile, not much else...

Is the Rampart area open? Could do Illinois Gulch, Fern Creek etc. Always China Wall, Chinamens Gulch

The gulches are all open and in good shape. Mt Herman road opened up to the southern part of Rampart Range so you can get to 315, 314, 300U all of which still have travel not advised signs but that's what makes it fun :).

Typically we end up on OCG this time of year, but I am kind of sick of that one. Josh was talking Penrose. I might let him talk me into that. Anyone been up Spring creek lately? Im guessing its snowed in half way up. What about Eagle Rock?

Been planning this with a few folks that aren't on the forum too. Looks like a few of us will be hitting Chinamans Gulch tomorrow (sunday). 10AM at the trailhead if anyone is interested

Ended up running OCG. Beautiful day. Couldn't have ask for better. Ran it with my scout, Josh's yota, and a buddies stock Tacoma 4 door long bed. Obviously that one took some precious but he went real well. Got the the V notch and couldn't get him through without excessive scraping though, so we turned around and went back out how we came it. It was more interesting that way anyways I think. Had a great day. Didn't break anything for a change. Girlfriend drove out most of the 2-way stretch. She did great for a first time. Damn near rolled the scout right off the bat though, but then she got the hang of it. It was entertaining. I took no pictures.
