I just got back from a trip to Grand Junction and we went to the Little Book Cliffs Wild Horse area. It's awesome, and if you're going to or from Moab and want a quick stop near Grand Junction, it's only 1.5 miles off exit 46 / Cameo; go over the river, drive north past Haliburton and Public Service, follow the signs on an easy dirt road to the parking area. Once there, you'd have to try not to see horses, they're all over that end of the WHA this time of year (according to a local guy we met there).

We also did some hiking, the best of which was D3, which I found on this awesome website: www.gjhikes.com (http://www.gjhikes.com)
This is D3, and the song on it is old soft rock from the 70s that was on the radio when we were driving in, I used it and it was rejected by the copyright filter. :( Turns out if you break it up and delete a couple of random sections, and layer it with nature sounds, it works fine. Ridiculous.
