Hi everyone,

My name is Jason and I live in Arvada. I just moved to Colorado from Virginia but I am originally from New Orleans. I have been 4wheeling for about 8 years now. I have been off-road all over central and northern New Mexico, Virginia, North Carolina (Outer Banks), Maryland, Pennsylvania and I have done one small off-road trip here in Colorado. I have a stock 2014 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited but will be adding new tires, winch, etc. in the near future. I prefer to take trips that have a nice view at the end and not just a ride through a tough trail. I hope to take a trip with the group soon.

I understand your "views" aspect to trails. Middle-St-Vrain / Coney Flats are 95% tree canyon (though the views at the lake are nice). The above timberline trails are all about views. Red Cone is high on the list.

Welcome. If you're new to Colorado, checkout both of the Colorado trails guides at Funtreks.com. They're the gold standard in trail guides. Also check out traildamage.com.

If you're into views, my top few are: Lead King Basin (near marble; don't have a pic handy but fantastic wildflowers), Hancock Pass / Alpine Tunnel (near Buena Vista), Tincup Pass (near Buena Vista), Mt Antero / Browns Lake (near Buena Vista), Breckenridge Peak 10, etc.

Please tell me more about the wheeling in northern New Mexico for views. I'd love to plan a trip down there, but finding trail information is difficult.
