Hey all... I have a sneaking suspicion that there will be more pictures of the Cj2 here than in any run threads for this summer. There is quite a bit to do before I want to drive it any significant distances...

Current Specs..

1946 CJ2A
350 Chevy V8 (one header, one manifold :) )
3 Speed Tranny
Stupid low gears
31/10.5 tires
Power windows, doorlocks and heated seats... Just Kidding!

Immediate Needs:

Get the blinkers working - check!
Get the brake lights going - parts ordered
Make sure the frame has enough support... I'm questioning some of the cross member work. I'll let someone smarter than me figure that out.
Get headers on both sides - I can tell the limitation is the steering box, hence the next item on the list...
Saginaw Steering Swap... likely power steering, that big motor and wider tires are some work

Slightly less important

Move the seat back about an inch... Tilt wheel... Whatever it takes to give my legs just a little more room.
Body and Paint... a little rust... but not bad.
Softer shocks and/or springs...

Cool toy, have fun. I used to run a "48" flat fender with a Chevy 289 in it. Was running the factory axles, and broke front spider gears like they were matchsticks.

This one has a Dana 44 in the back and a Dana 27 in the front. Neither came on it but obviously the 27 is the weak point. Not worried about it now though.

Nice ride! I have been looking for a decent one with a stock drivetrain for a while. Most have been converted to the V8. It is nice to have the power, but there is something cool about the flathead.

Small victories. Brake lights and turn signals rewired and working.

Now i need an alarm for the turn signal. I leave it on all the time.

Congrats, small victories beat small failures! Turn signal alarm? How loud? :D

I should probably do something like that as I'm the guy that drives around with a turn signal on because it's not loud enough for me to hear. :brody:
