Bringing this back. Who's interested in a mid-week run? Something local, not too hard. Patrolman? You expressed interest and some rookie friends as I recall. I have a friend who just contacted me about it too, he works weekends but would like to get out. Who else was interested? Nay?
My memories not too good. :p

Anyone else? I need a local run for the :pig: shakedown!

It would depend on the day. I think Wednesdays tend to be more forgiving to me than Tu/Th.
How soon are you looking to do one?

I'm thinking within the next couple weeks, I'm flexible on days. Depends on what other people can do. I have a firefighter friend that would like to get out too but his schedule is crazy.

Yeah, next few weeks would be good for me. I have a friend who works weekend nights at a hospital. Wants to get out and give it a whirl. Let me get his general schedule and post what is available.
Anyone have a place in mind?

I'd like to keep it somewhere close, that's my only thought on where.
Assuming all goes well with Man Jerk tomorrow I'll just need to put my new carb on the 55 and I'll be ready.

Yikes! Yeah, that might be taken into consideration! We'll be there in 9 days :D
Always good to wheel a bit before the event.

Looks like we could be on for Tues/Weds/Thurs this coming week. Will your ride be ready Chris? Anyone else?

I can always drive the 62 if the 55's not ready. Need to re-jet the carb and put it on but haven't gotten around to see who sells the Holley parts locally. I'd be up for something this week.

Chris - If you have a particular set of jets in mind, post it up and I'll go through my stash of Holley parts. Otherwise, Checkers (which should be right next to you now - SE corner of Alameda and (I think) Chambers) used to carry Holley parts (9 years ago when I last played with a Holley of my own), so I'd guess they probably still do. Back then, there was a speed shop up on Colfax (yes, as you get into the bad parts west of Peoria) that had parts too... though couldn't tell you if they are still there.

Jimmy, I haven't found a Holley chart yet to figure out what I need. The T/A is set for sea level with 68 Primary and 89 Secondary and needs a step down for each 2000 feet, figure I'll get 3 steps down (6000ft) and 2 steps (4000ft) and see what's best.

We can always wait. Was just trying to get in a run before Moab for some folks. Also trying to get in a run for the 55. No big rush though.

Almost any of the speed shops posted in the vendors section will carry Holley parts. Ditto online shops like Speedway Motors, posted in links or tech.
http://www.speedwaymotors.com at any rate.
I got rid of all my Holley stuff, too, or you could have it. I didn't think people had carbs anymore, anyway, except to use as ash trays or for potted plants....wait-Joe has one, too! Maybe there are some others out there...the 85 Bronco?
Seriously, though-wouldn't a used EFI bolt right onto that engine without too much drama?

Probably but I really want to revert back to the carb, part of recapturing my youth or something stupid like that. :smokin:
I've also heard plenty of drama going to EFI and I want to wheel, not tinker incessantly.
I'll check out the local speed shops but every day seems to be getting away from me for other stuff.
Thanks!
