Going out to Rollins pass Friday the June 5th
Sorry for the short notice.

There will be me in my Yj and a buddy of mine in his 86 4runner SAS.

All are welcome, if we have time I'd like to maybe toss the fishing pole in the lake and also see what mammoth gultch Road looks like to.

I will be there! I think we should call the ranger office to see what they know about conditions. It is NFSR 502. tel:303-541-2500 someone should be able to answer after 8am. I will try to remember but I will be on the road by then. Do you guys have CBs?

How was this? Hope you had fun and stayed safe!! I'm really interested in trail conditions in the area too.

Trail was dry other than the massive drifts. We turned around before making it far up Jenny Creek trail. A cool guy named Kurtis said that he tried but turned around because he was alone. We decided to add him to our group and turn back to try to cross over mammoth gulch and get to Idaho springs. That didn't last too long, but we had fun bashing and winching. The final drift that turned us around on mammoth gulch was around 8-9' deep and took a SASed runner on 37s about 10 tries to break through. Needless to say my truck was far behind by the time this happened. I hope that we expedited the hawing process by breaking up the smaller drifts, but it won't be passable for at least another week,

I will also post this in the trail run reports.

You bringing the sled bro?

;)
I would very much NOT go down Jenny... not even close to being ready.

Snow line is still so much lower than normal, we can't even ride a bunch of the stuff around here yet, so over it.

It isn't nearly as effective without the track & ski though... who knew?

Oh... I THOUGHT I was going fast enough.

I also thought it was going to be stiff, didn't expect to dig in like that.

Knowing the way to ride I bet you were hauling !
Well know I know what I won't be trying haha I'm not as fast as you.

Did you slow down gradually? Or was it like a brick wall?

Well... the back wheel went about 4' up in the air... so not very gradual. The softness caught me WAY off guard. I had built up speed & figured I'd coast over it... uh, yeah.

You need to get that blue beast back up here man, the snow is melting quicker now!!!
