So I was thinking of trying the Idaho Spring to Rollinsville again, but ending at Jenny's Creek instead. Would anyone else be game?

Start in Idaho springs meeting at the closed forest service building just off the highway. From there we will take O My God road (I think Twin Brothers is closed due to pipe work) to central city. From there we will head up to Yankee hill taking bald mountain road. From Yankee hill we will take Miners Gulch to Broomfield Gulch road to Apex Valley Road. We will take Apex rd. to 119 up to Pickle Gulch. We will connect with Moon gulch and follow that down to Rollinsville, Then over to Jenny's creek for a finish. Probably stop at Pickle for lunch.

Start time 9 am? I am open for other times.

I'm game, though I'm a little uncertain of Jenny Creek since my FJ is stock height.

It's a possibility. I'd likely shorten the day a bit and not do Jenny. Depends on what time it is.

I think that's the great thing about a run like this...plenty of opportunity to head home early if needed. just run as many sections as you'd like, then head out!

I don't think I'll be able to make this one as we've got guests visiting, but if you need any help with navigation, I did run Pickle to Gamble Gulch on Monday. it wasn't quite the route I was originally looking for (specifically, I didn't hook up with Moon Gulch), but then again, I wasn't really trying either...

Jenny creek is not doable at the moment. At least our two high power rigs on 40s were not successful

Just got my points re-installed and some tune work done. New plugs tomorrow and drive it around for a bit. Would be nice to join you guys, and maybe a with a jeep that likes to start this time. Once the run is posted I'll rsvp if I am good to go asap - and I might have to cut out a little early, like after Yankee Hill.

cheers

Do you guys want to meet at Starbucks in Idaho Springs at 9:00?

sdswingr
July 6th, 2015, 08:22 PM
I was thinking a bit earlier due to it being about 25 miles of trail, plus some mileage in between..maybe 7 or 8?
Also added it to calendar

Yeah, I put it on the calendar already...I think starbucks is a fine meeting place, as it is right off the hwy..plus really, Idaho springs is like a half mile long, I think we can handle the pavement for that long.. we met there last week at 9am, and there was basically no traffic getting there from Denver/Aurora

Mark
July 6th, 2015, 09:27 PM
That's cool with me nine am at Starbucks!

July 7th, 2015, 01:45 AM

Thanks for picking up the ball on this Tim. Sorry for late response; looooooong day. Starbucks @ 9am. All: keep in mind the twin tunnel lane closures ~ delays.

points are in, new plugs and engine retuned. haven't driven it much yet but am busy all afternoon into evening. I'll rsvp as maybe and tomorrow's drive up to Idaho Springs will be the test. Going to try and lean the idle mix screws tomorrow once up in Idaho Springs for the increased elevation and see if that helps idle and start as well.
