Had a fun trip down this forest road over the holiday weekend. Just west of Leadville, past the hatchery about a mile if you take Hwy 300 off CO-24. The first half mile or so of the trail has private property on both sides of the trail. It's heavily posted with signs so there's no mistake the land owners do not want trespassing.
Once you get past the private land, it follows the power lines and the trail gets steep with deep ruts/washouts that will stretch suspension. Stock vehicles may struggle a little if not maintaining strategic lines for tire placement, but it's do-able. High clearance vehicles with larger tires, upgraded suspension should feel at home. Some rocks and narrow parts, but nothing that a full size truck/suv can't maneuver through. Approximately half way through, there's a leg that heads up towards Bald Eagle Mtn. This is a fun little trek. We ran into some snow on the ledge and had to winch the Raptor off the ledge to avoid it sliding off the path due to the snow. Watch for mountain bikers and hikers as this forest road is also used for races. 360 Views and of Turquoise Lake are amazing on this trail. At the west end, 105A joins Hagerman Pass 105.
